…and then there were FIVE!!!

Owen and Rose were one month old at the time of this photoshoot. Our photographer, Rebecca Winters, prefers to do the newborn shoots when they are only a few days old as it makes them easier to photogragh but the twins had different plans. Rose and Owen both had some minor issues after birth. Owen was born first and he spent sixteen days in the special care unit at Soin. Rose was born three minutes after Owen and had a few more hiccups that kept her in the special care unit at Soin for 26 days. Those ten days, having Owen at home while Rose was still in the hospital, were some of the toughest days. Emily spent most of those nights at Soin taking care of Rose while I stayed home with Owen and Greyson. Nana(Lisa Mantle) was by our side the entire time making sure the babies and Greyson were happy and healthy. She is a true saint and we could have not done this without her. We love you Nana! I would start my mornings by dropping Greyson off at school and then heading straight to Soin to be with Rose and Emily while Nana looked after Owen. I would stay until early afternoon and then head home to give Nana a break. Then, I would pick Greyson up, come home and make dinner. Emily would come home on occasion and eat dinner with Greyson while I went back to Soin to be with Rose. There were ups and downs but we eventually all made it home to be together as one big happy family! Five days after we all got to be together at home we had this photoshoot. Rebecca’s studio was located on Main Street in Springboro and was a beautiful old house she had turned into her studio. It was at least two hundred degrees in there but that kept the babies content and Rebecca got some great pictures. Greyson really enjoyed getting all the pictures taken with the babies. He was, and continues to be the best big brother on the planet. After the family photos, Rebecca started with the twins. She had some amazing ideas and settings which led to some spectacular pictures. By this time Greyson and I were both sweating through our shirts. We decided to take a walk down Main Street in Springboro. There was a really nice bicycle hub only a few blocks from the studio. Greyson thought it was cool to see the bike path and a nice resting area for all the bicyclists. We used the bike path to walk back to the studio and happened to pass an ice cream shop. Unfortunately they were closed. I mean what kind of ice cream shop would be open at 10am on a Sunday. Greyson was a little upset but happy to get back to his baby brother and sister. Rebecca finished the shoot and we were on our way. Stay tuned for the one year photoshoot!
